Judy Bessac, MSSW, LCSW

Judy began her journey as a Therapist and Case Manager with a Community Support Program.  Her journey moved into the medical field working as a Mental Health Therapist with adults and adolescents with health care and mental health issues.  She then transitioned to an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic as a Senior Therapist.  During her journey, an interest sparked in the area of neurosciences choosing to learn more about the brain and healing the brain/body connection.  It is with the neurosciences that she has a reputable record of helping adolescents and adults heal from challenging symptoms, traumatic experiences, and stress.

As a seasoned therapist, she uses a client-centered approach to assist in reaching clients goals and interweaves neurophysiology in her practice that allows for a deeper personal transformation.  She also includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Skills and Meditations, Dialectical Behavioral Skills, Reality Therapy, and Brief-Solution Focused Therapy into her practice.  She has profound success working with individuals who experience anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, depression, trauma, dissociative disorders to name a few. As a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist and a Certified Brainspotting (BSP) Therapist, she incorporates the neurophysiological aspects in her therapy practice.

Judy specializes in Emergency Responders/Military and their families, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety and depression. Judy has focused her expertise in Brainspotting, a healing treatment modality, since 2018. Judy integrates other treatment modalities to meet client’s needs. As a Brainspotting Consultant, Judy approaches consultees the same as therapy, meeting the consultee where they are at, with no judgement, and working towards the consultee feeling confident in concepts and applications of Brainspotting.

Judy enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, and being with family.  She also enjoys her roles of being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and counselor. Just as life’s twists and turns has brought her to where she is today, Judy would like to assist you through your journey.
