Bridget Riley LPC-IT, SAC-IT

Bridget began her internship at Calming Journeys in August of 2021. Bridget earned her master of science in clinical mental health counseling graduate degree from Viterbo University in May of 2022. Since then she has passed her National Counselor exam, and is working towards completing the required hours for her full licensure in Professional Counselor and Substance Abuse Counselor  along with earning her Brainspotting certification. Bridget has experience working with Child Protective Services and families affected by substance abuse.

Bridget strives to empower clients by focusing on their strengths in hopes of awakening self-awareness, and potential. She uses an integrative approach, borrowing from many theories and techniques when working with individuals.  By providing a safe, warm, empathetic, non-judgmental space in sessions  clients are inspired towards personal growth and change. Her stance is that all lived experiences are truly individualized, striving to counsel all clients in ways that both respects and considers their worldviews.

Bridget understands the value of family as she comes from a large one herself. Her time is taken up mostly with the roles of mother, wife, and graduate student. This helps her understand just how hectic life can be and how to relate to others. Her spare time is filled with other interests like long walks, reading non-fiction, learning about history, watching documentaries, and listening to podcasts.
